Local contour, considered carefully
Liposuction removes selected deposits of fat beneath the skin. The amount and distribution of that fat, the overlying skin and the surrounding contours guide the plan. It does not treat obesity or remove the deeper fat around the abdominal organs.
Skin quality changes the choice
When excess skin is a major part of the concern, removing fat alone may not produce the change you want. Discuss skin excision and its scars alongside liposuction. Cellulite dimples need their own assessment; cellulite release may be considered for selected tethered depressions.
Discuss the limits and risks
Possible problems include contour irregularity, asymmetry, fluid accumulation, infection, altered sensation and anesthesia complications. Serious complications can include blood clots or injury to deeper structures. Larger treatment plans require particular attention to fluid management, setting and monitoring.
A procedure plan you can explain
- Which areas are included, and why?
- What result is realistic with my skin and anatomy?
- What anesthesia and facility are proposed?
- Would separate stages make more sense?
- What follow-up and additional costs could be needed?
